We all know that Christmas while it can be a wonderful time for families , does also bring significant financial pressure.
But for families that are caring for a child with a life limiting condition it is particularly hard. While they want to make it a very special time for their sick child and siblings at the end of a year during which they may have spent a lot of time in hospital , the financial pressure they are already under with the non medical costs of caring for their child is increased.
Thankfully with the wonderful support of the general public through individual and corporate donations and fundraising events we were delighted to be able to send out cheques to 22 families in the week up to Christmas. This was one of our largest postings this year and brought to 103 the number of families assisted in 2018. We hope that while not solving all their problems the funds received gave these families some breathing space and allowed them to have an enjoyable and well deserved happy Christmas
