The CLUB Limerick / Lifting Limerick Annual Golf Event takes place again at Castletroy Golf Club on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th May 2017

CLUB Limerick / Lifting Limerick is an association of like-minded supporters of Limerick hurling who have come together to help re-invigorate interest in Limerick hurling through the provision of a platform over a sustained period that will deliver the success that Limerick hurling deserves.

Each year CLUB Limerick / Lifting Limerick nominates a locally based charity to benefit from various fundraising events that they hold.  Speaking at the recent launch Sean Scanlan Club Limerick Chairperson confirmed that Cliona’s Foundation would be the beneficiary of this event for the 2nd year. “Clionas Foundation are doing amazing work and there are increasing demands  on them from families with sick children . This year we are hoping with the support of the business and golfing community to raise €10,000 for the Foundation through the Hole in One challenge, coffee morning and the women’s competition. A great day out is guaranteed on the magnificent course and superb facilities of Castletroy Golf Club

Speaking at the launch Brendan Ring founder of Cliona’s Foundation said “ We receive a minimum of 2 new applications a week from all over the country for funding and in 2017 we are hoping to be in the position to be able to support 160 families. We are the only Charity providing assistance towards the non medical costs of caring for a child with a life limiting illness. We receive no state support so rely solely on the generosity of individuals and organisations. Partnerships like this with Limerick GAA are very important and valuable to us and we genuinely appreciate their support “
